There are legislative responsibilities placed on Landlords in NSW to ensure that their properties are compliant in a range of aspects prior to renting a property. These include:

• Smoke Alarms

• Blind Cord Safety

• Window and Balcony Safety

• Swimming Pools & Spa Pools

• Water Efficiency

We have a range of third party contractor we very highly recommend who will be able to look after these for you. Further information on the Landlords legal responsibilities can be found on the NSW Fair Trading website here.

Why is Landlord Insurance Important ?

Landlord Insurance covers you for tenanted related risks including loss of rental income and loss or damage to your contents and building by the tenant. Other insurance may not cover these events and very often, the bond wont be enough to cover the associates costs.

Landlord Insurance is tax deductible and for a small investment, offers you peace of mind that you are covered in the unfortunate event that it is needed.

Most insurance companies offer a Landlord Insurance policy, some of which may be attached with your regular building insurance. We also very highly recommend Terri Scheer who are Landlords Insurance specialists. You can reach them at:

Ph: 1800 804 016
